You have more control over your life and career than you think you do.
So many of us are taught at an early age not to color outside of the lines, to play it safe, to follow the rules in order to be successful.
But what if you didn’t? What if you didn’t buy into all the promises that society says you’ll receive when you play by their rules? Instead, what if you were in control?
These are the kinds of questions I want you to explore and the reason why I launched the What Would Sheila Say podcast.
Sacrificing your happiness to take a job you hate doesn’t guarantee financial security or wealth, and following your passion doesn’t mean you have to become a starving artist.
You are in control.Â
Be empowered to follow your own rules. The ones that society wants us to follow about how we handle our business, our clients, our careers, our personal and professional relationships only serve to keep us submissive, subverted, subjugated, stuck and often strapped for cash.
You don’t have to buy into this idea that you’re supposed to work 40, 70 or 80 hours a week, while neglecting your health and mental wellness.
It’s time to get clarity so that you can have the confidence to get what you want without worrying what others think.
Only then can you have the courage to say “Yes,” when it’s right and “No,” when it’s not.
You’ll be able to sleep at night knowing that you have the right clients, the right business, the right career, and the right life that you want and deserve.
Extra Credit
As you go about your day, think about these questions:
- Do you feel in control of your life?
- Do you allow others to be in control?
- Do you say yes to anything, even though you know you should say no?
